Two live animals (a goose and a bunny) and a real, live baby are only some of the unexpected treasures in this epic, three hour tale. I was intrigued the moment an usher was overheard explaining that that three infants are backstage at all times, ready to step in if an onstage crying bout starts. The performance I saw went without a hitch, as Baby Bobby O'The Day gurgled and kicked adorably.
On the plane home (to the soundtrack of a squalling infant that unfortunately could not exit stage right...), I found a very apropos piece in the Post:

Bottom line: the play is worth seeing for the story alone. The stagecraft and acting, however, are like nothing you've seen or likely will see.
