Besides traveling, the biggest thing I missed after last year's accident & now, during shelter-in-place, is not being able to see plays/performances. Always find my center in that silent, still moment right before the curtain goes up. ❤️
Grateful for orgs getting productions online!
TheatreWorks Silicon Valley just wrapped "They Promised Her The Moon", surfacing the story of Geraldyn Cobb (photo), an incredible woman who should have been the first woman in space in the early 60s--she held multiple world records as a pilot and scored in the top 2% of physical tests vs. male astronauts. (Googling her bio, especially for my classmates, is a fascinating read.) Shockingly, NASA didn't train its first group of women until Sally Ride's class in 78.
ACT's "Gloria" is an intense and multilayered look at cubicle culture, ambition and narrative ownership.
Marin Theatre Company's "Love" is equally intense, but more nuanced, struggling with the question of loving a person, while abhorring their behavior:

Thrilled that PlayGround live streamed their finale on Mon night--playwrights are given 4.5 days to write a 10 min play & the top 6 were read live.
Play Per View is an exciting new service with live streaming readings & other events.
